Update

I'm sorry.... I'm literally the WORST at keeping up my blog. My goal as of right now is to do a better job. Speaking of jobs... I QUIT MINE. Yep, the job that I talked about in my last post is no longer my job. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed working there for the most part. There were definitely some MAJOR downfalls though. Well actually just one - her name is Grace.
Grace is the owner of the store, and at times can be a very nice woman. However, she expected me to be able to pick up shifts whenever she needed me. Three days in a row, she called me, asking me to come in on a whim. I consider myself to be a good worker, I am dedicated to any job or project that I commit myself to. However, I go to school. My education is my primary job at this time, and sometimes I'm just not going to be able to come into work. Anyway, the first two days that she called me, telling me that I needed to come in, I had to politely decline. She didn't take it very well. In fact, several times I heard her say "I'm your boss - you work for me" (yikes!) Anyway, on the third day I went into work after having two days off (the two days that she hounded me to come in) When my shift ended, I took a look at the schedule just to double check everything, and write down any new shifts. I then discovered that at some point between my shift on Wednesday and my shift on Saturday, she had scheduled me for Sunday. This was not on the original schedule, and I was never contacted about this schedule change. I had made plans for that Sunday, as I was not originally scheduled and Grace had previously informed me that I would not be scheduled on Sundays, because those shifts had been requested by other employees. I gave Grace a phone call on the way out to ask her about the schedule change, hoping that she would understand and be sympathetic to the fact that I had already made plans. Boy was I wrong.
Maybe I had been reaching too far by hoping for her understanding, but I was in no way anticipating the next 15 minutes of my life to be consisting of an old asian woman screaming at me through my cell phone while I sat in my car in the parking lot. She told me that it was unnacceptable that I wasn't able to accomidate her the last two times that she called me, asking me to come in, and that I absolutely had to come in the next day. She did not care that she had changed the schedule without my knowledge, and she did not care that I had made plans around my originoal work schedule. I was completely taken aback and frankly, just wanted to get off of the phone before I lost my temper, so I told her that I make changes in my plans so that I would be able to come in the next day.
When I went home, I told my mom and dad that I would be quitting my job at Casual Gourmet. I informed them of how disrespectful she had been to me, some of the things that she said, and what had occured with the scheduling conflict. As I was recounting all of this information to them, I just got so frustrated with the way she had treated me over the phone, and the fact that I was going to be going in the next day due to her basically bullying me into it. I had been told previously that she at some point in time had made every employee at the store cry, and had told my coworkers that Grace would never in a thousand years be given the chance to do that to me. Grace never did make me cry, and I was also not going to let her harass me into accommodating her obnoxious schedule changes. I called Grace back and told her that I had given our discussion some thought and that I would not be attending work the next day. I was polite and simply told her that just like I would not cancel on her last minute, I could not cancel on those I had made plans with for the next day. She crassly asked me if my plans the next day were more important than her need for me at the store. I told her that it had nothing to do with what was more important, but with my obligation to keep my commitments. I told her that from now on I would need a set schedule at least a week in advance. She told me that she wasn't able to do that, and I told her that I wasn't able to work for her any longer. That was that! I feel so much better after leaving that job. It's also sad because I REALLY enjoyed the people that I worked with, but I couldn't work for somebody so insensitive. Anyways- I GOT A NEW JOB!
My new job is working for a company called Princess Parties by Heidi and I LOVE IT! My boss is the sweetest and I get to work as Cinderella! I go to birthday parties and get to make a little princesses day! It is really the most rewarding job in the world. I had my first party on Friday and though, it was in the ghetto (but seriously), the kids were amazing, everybody was wonderful, and I got to be Cinderella for a day! (I'll post pictures at the bottom)
But enough about my employment. I've been getting to hang out with friends more often, which is always fun! School is going great (nothing below a B) and spring is slowly but surely coming to Maryland! So,  I think this post is plenty long. Next time I post it hopefully wont be as long because I wont have so much catching up to do!! Yay life! Here's a picture...
